A five-day exploration of the great epic of the ancient world
Sunday, June 9th, to Friday, June 15th
Honeyberry Hill Bed and Breakfast, Ithaca, New York
Cost: $500-700 based on accommodation desired
This June I will host a gathering focused on the wild sea-tale of the Odyssey, that fierce and beautiful epic with the power to guide each of us home. Each day we will experience the story as a tale told aloud and then explore it through discussion, creative writing, and attention to its cultural world. Throughout we will explore the story not simply as the expression of a past age but also as a means by which to deepen our own relationship to home, to the earth, and to the timeless human desire to explore worlds unknown. Music and song will be woven throughout the week, and there will be ample time for reflection in the nearby forest.
This residential workshop is for all those wishing to deepen their understanding of this epic, and no storytelling experience is required. We will stay at the beautiful Honeyberry Hill bed-and-breakfast just south of Ithaca, New York and all meals will be provided. (You can explore Honeyberry Hill here.)
This workshop is limited to 12 participants; admittance is application-based and you can find that application here.
